Mr. C. Ken Bishop is Of Counsel in the Orlando office of Broad and Cassel. He is a member of the Firm’s Eminent Domain Practice Group.

  • Mr. Bishop founded the first branch office of Broad and Cassel in Orlando in 1977. He served as Chairman of the Firm from 1986 to 2000 and Chairman Emeritus from 2000 to 2002.
  • Mr. Bishop has an extensive background in all aspects of real estate, including contract negotiations, of real property title and conveyance matters. Mr. Bishop has 35 years of legal experience with significant emphasis on eminent domain and construction law and, on numerous occasions, has litigated complex matters regarding construction, real property, and eminent domain issues.
  • Mr. Bishop has represented both individual and corporate landowners as well as various Condemning Authorities throughout Florida.
  • Mr. Bishop, as the lead eminent domain counsel for the Orange County School Board, was involved in the condemnation of all parcels necessary for the renovation of Boone High School. Cost of the project was in excess of $50 million. Mr. Bishop has also acted as special eminent domain counsel for the Volusia County School Board.
  • Mr. Bishop has represented the Orlando/Orange County Expressway Authority for many years. He has also served as Special Counsel for the Seminole County Expressway Authority to litigate claims by a large commercial property owner and to handle litigation for the Eastern Beltway Extension.
  • Mr. Bishop served as Special Counsel to represent the Miami Beach City Commission for the eminent domain aspects of its Downtown Redevelopment District, and also served as lead eminent domain counsel for the Sanford Aviation Authority.
  • Ken Bishop has successfully litigated inverse condemnation cases and complex issues of business damages, environmental and development issues, as well as relocation issues.
  • Mr. Bishop was recognized in 2007 - 2017 by the top legal guide "The Best Lawyers in America," published by Woodward and White. Mr. Bishop was also recognized by Orlando Magazine as one of "Orlando's Best Lawyers" in eminent domain. He is an Achieved AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell, achieving the agency’s highest marks for both competency and ethics.
