Peter Schoemann’s areas of focus include corporate and tax.
His corporate practice includes formation of corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships, operating matters, private offerings and mergers and acquisitions.
Schoemann’s tax practice includes representation of clients with respect to corporate income tax matters (including tax-free reorganizations), partnership tax matters, tax-exempt organization matters, individual income tax matters, and state and local tax matters. He also counsels clients on the tax effect of various formations, equity offerings, acquisitions, and other transactions.
His corporate and tax practice also include structuring and implementing ownership of complex business ventures, such as complex real estate developments.
Schoemann previously served as an attorney advisor for the United States Tax Court in Washington D.C. for the Honorable Carolyn P. Chiechi.
He graduated first in his class for the University of Florida Levin College of Law L.L.M. Tax program and is a member of the University of Florida Hall of Fame.
He was recognized as one of Central Florida’s brightest and most promising young businesspeople by being named in the Orlando Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40.” In 2009, he was named in Legal 500, a legal reference guide, for his “excellent, high quality service.” In 2010, he was named a “Florida Legal Elite” by Florida Trend Magazine.
Schoemann’s involvement in the community shows that he is a leader and an entrepreneur. He is President of Breaking Barriers Martial Arts, Inc. and is on the Seminole County Task Force on Homelessness. He is the founder of the Chamber of Commerce for Persons with Disabilities, Inc. and a founder and past chair of the Central Florida Disability Chamber. He previously served as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Seminole, Inc. In addition, he is a past chair of the Board for Disability Rights Florida, Inc., and has served on the Board of the Center for Independent Living in Central Florida, Inc. He was instrumental in helping the Firm achieve the Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce “Champion for Small Business” in 2014.
