Jeremy Springhart Wins International Dispute Trial

Jeremy Springhart, an associate in our Orlando office, recently won a five day trial involving a complex international business dispute between two business partners, one from the U.S. and the other from Belgium. Mr. Springhart represented the Belgian business partner as well as a Belgian automobile dealership that lost over $350,000 as a result of the business dispute. In addition, Mr. Springhart enforced a member derivative action against the American partner which resulted in personal judgments against the American business partner for breach of fiduciary duty and conversion.

This matter resulted in Mr. Springhart's clients being awarded judgments totaling over $1 million. Mr. Springhart also successfully defended a $750,000 counter-claim against his Belgian clients. Needless to say, the clients flew back to Brussels, Belgium very happy.

Mr. Springhart is an associate in the construction litigation department. He joined the firm in August, 2006. Prior to joining the firm, he practiced construction law at a local boutique firm following three years at the State of Florida Office of the Attorney General where he prosecuted economic crimes.
