Three New Partners Named in 2009

ORLANDO, Fla.; January 26, 2009 — The statewide law firm Broad and Cassel is pleased to announce that three attorneys have been named Partners with the Firm: Joseph P. Jones of Tallahassee, Peter Schoemann of Orlando, and Jeremy Slusher of West Palm Beach.

Previously serving as Of Counsel in the Tallahassee office, Joseph P. Jones is a member of the Firm's Banking and Institutional Lending and Real Estate Practice Groups. Jones received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Central Florida in 1995, and thereafter received his J.D. in 1999, from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center. Jones has a diverse background including six years in law enforcement and eight years with the Marine Corps. His practice consists primarily of commercial real estate development, corporate growth and financing, administrative permitting and licensure, general corporate representation and all forms of transactional matters. Jones joined the Firm in 1999.

Formerly an Associate in the Orlando office, Peter Schoemann is a member of the Firm’s Corporate and Securities, Public Finance and Capital Projects and Taxation Practice Groups. A member of the Firm since 2004, Schoemann attended the University of Florida where he received four degrees: a Bachelor of Science in 1991, with high honors, a master’s degree in accounting in 1995, his J.D. in 1995, with honors, and an LL.M. in taxation in 1997, ranking first in his class. His practice has included representing clients in general corporate matters as well as taxation issues with respect to corporate income tax matters, partnership tax matters, tax-exempt organization matters and individual income tax matters. Schoemann’s involvement in the community demonstrates his position as a leader and an entrepreneur. He is the founder and chairman of the Chamber of Commerce for Persons with Disabilities, Inc. and serves in leadership roles for several other local civic and charitable organizations.

Previously an Associate in the West Palm Beach office, Jeremy Slusher is a member of the Commercial Litigation, Real Estate Litigation, Construction Law and Litigation, Tort Law and Appellate Practice Groups. He received his bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University in 1995, and his J.D. from the University of Florida in 1998. Slusher concentrates in the areas of commercial litigation, real estate related litigation, landlord/tenant litigation, non-compete litigation and construction litigation. He also has experience in general personal injury litigation and medical malpractice defense. Slusher joined the Firm in 2000.
