Orlando Attorney Nicole Guillet Appointed to Apopka Family Learning Center Board of Directors

ORLANDO, Fla.; May 7, 2009 —The statewide law firm Broad and Cassel is proud to announce that Nicole Guillet has been appointed to serve on the Board of Directors for the Apopka Family Learning Center (“AFLC”).

Guillet, who serves as a land use and environmental law attorney in Broad and Cassel’s Orlando office, has worked with the AFLC’s parent organization, Justice and Peace Office (“JPO”), through her former position with the City of Apopka assisting with the development of the current AFLC facility and the JPO’s Hope Community Center.

Joining the working board of 13 directors, Guillet is looking forward to a more active role with the AFLC. “It’s an honor to work alongside of those individuals in our community who are dedicated to making a difference,” Guillet said. “I look forward to helping achieve prosperous goals to ensure that our programs and mission are a continued success.”

The AFLC’s mission is to create a unique, educational environment of hope and encouragement for lifetime learning. A centerpiece of the Justice and Peace Office, the AFLC helps families address vital issues of education, literacy, parenting skills, health care and money management. The AFLC builds strong families one day at a time by empowering children and families through education.

Prior to joining Broad and Cassel, Guillet served as the Community Development Director and Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Apopka. She received her undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Central Florida, and earned a Juris Doctor from Stetson University. Guillet is a member of numerous professional and community organizations, including The Florida Bar’s Land Use and Environmental Law, City, County, and Local Government and Administrative Law Sections; the Florida Planning and Zoning Association; the American Planning Association; the American Society for Public Administration; and the Florida Redevelopment Association.
