Tour de Cure Chair Robert Alfert and Broad and Cassel Team Raise nearly $35,000 for 2018 Event

ORLANDO, Fla. (April 6, 2018) — Broad and Cassel Partner Robert Alfert recently completed his second term as Chair for the Tour de Cure event in Lake Nona, benefitting the American Diabetes Association. The firm participated in the 2018 event as part of a team led by Alfert and Axiom Bank’s CEO Don Davis, raising approximately $35,000 toward the record-breaking event total of more than $900,000. Under his leadership, this event has grown by nearly 50 percent in dollars raised.

An avid cyclist and Ironman Hawaii finisher, Alfert has been involved in Tour de Cure for several years now as a committee member and participant. He also serves as the captain for the firm’s team. Alfert competed in the first Tour de Cure event held in Lake Nona in 2005, riding for the Tavistock/Lake Nona Team.

The funds raised by more than 1,500 participants will help fund diabetes research, advocacy and education, but it’s not too late to contribute. Fundraising for the event runs through April 25.
